AI Guru Institute (“AIGI,” “we,” “us”), an AI Guru company, provides vendor-neutral AI certifications. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our websites and services for candidates, training partners, and organizations.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — name, email, password (stored only as a hash), and profile details you provide.
• Certification data — enrollments, study and practice activity, exam bookings, responses, scores, pass/fail outcomes, and issued credentials.
• Proctoring data — when you take a proctored exam, our proctoring provider may capture video, audio, identity verification, and environment/session data to protect exam integrity. This may include biometric identifiers where permitted by law and only with the notice and consent required.
• Payment information — processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited transaction and status data.
• Organization & partner data — for enterprise-sponsored candidates and training partners, the sponsoring organization and seat/assignment details.
• Usage & device data — log data, IP address, and basic analytics needed to operate and secure the service.
• Cookies — we use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in sessions and security (CSRF protection). See “Cookies” below.

2. How we use information

• To deliver certifications — prep, practice, scheduling, proctored delivery, scoring, and issuing and verifying credentials.
• To process payments, subscriptions, and invoices.
• To maintain exam integrity and prevent fraud or misconduct.
• To provide reporting to a sponsoring organization for candidates it certifies.
• To communicate service, security, and transactional messages.
• To comply with legal, accreditation, and audit obligations.

3. Legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data to perform our contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests (such as security and service integrity), to comply with legal obligations, and — where required, such as for certain proctoring or biometric processing — on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with:

• Service providers (processors) acting on our behalf — including our certification/assessment platform (the system of record for items, scoring, and credential governance), payment processing (Stripe), proctoring, digital-badge issuance (Accredible), email delivery, cloud hosting and storage (AWS), and content delivery and security (Cloudflare).
• Sponsoring organizations — if your certification is sponsored by an employer or partner, we share enrollment, progress, and credential status with that organization.
• Legal and safety — where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, subject to this policy.

5. International transfers

We operate from the United States and may process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

6. Data retention

We keep certification records and issued credentials for as long as needed to maintain the validity and verifiability of credentials and to meet accreditation, audit, and legal requirements. Other data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described here.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. 8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and an immutable audit trail for sensitive events. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies required to sign you in and to protect requests (CSRF). We do not use advertising cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
